Unfortunately, hopes of a win faded before the race even began. While lined up on the track, Warren felt that his safety equipment was not hooked up properly and came to pit lane for adjustments. After a readjustment of a “Head and Neck Restraint” strap, Warren was forced to start at the rear of the field. Still having a fast car, the H.E.A.T machine worked its way back up to 3rd position by ten laps to go. The two front cars were too far in front to catch at the end.
Although very embarrassed about the pre-race mistake, Warren was happy with the 3rd place finish and will be practicing hooking up the new helmet with the new Head and Neck Restraint system and new safety belts BEFORE the next race.
